Joshua Chachi Presents “Mother: A Work in Progress” on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11 at Don’t Tell Mama

After a hiatus, Joshua Chachi returns to the cabaret spotlight with Mother: A Work in Progress, a musical journey through parenthood, reinvention and song, on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11 at Don’t Tell Mama at 7:00 PM.

Chachi’s intimate and nostalgic solo show traces his transformation from stage to devoted dad and back again. With lullabies that echo louder than applause, love rewrites the melody of his life and Chachi invites audiences on a journey of heart, humor, and harmony. Drawing inspiration from vocal legends such as Mel Tormé, Frankie Randall, Ray Stevens and Johnny Mathis, with a torchy tip of the hat to the greats Liza Minnelli and Barbra Streisand, Chachi’s set list is as rich and unpredictable as motherhood itself.

Known for his performances at Ellen’s Stardust Diner and his hosting at Barbarino’s Big Night Out!,  the monthly variety show at LIPS NYC, Chachi  took a hiatus during the COVID period to focus on raising his son with partner Walther. Mother is his love letter to those quiet nights and loud emotions.

After years of wrestling with self-doubt and fear, Chachi credits parenting, Stardust and the cabaret community for helping him reclaim his voice and rebrand and to return at last to the place that has always felt like home—the stage.

There is a $15 cover + $20 minimum of two drinks Cash only. Reserve at donttellmamanyc.com
