Commemorating pianist Tedd Firth’s very first show in NYC, vocalist Jane Scheckter is presenting the updated version of Before They Were Virgins at Pangea on Wednesday, August 27 at 7 PM. Bassist Jay Leonhart and drummer Peter Grant are also on the bill with music director Firth.
The show is a tribute to those fabulous blondes of the 1950s. The title is a goof on Oscar Levant’s quote “I knew Doris Day before she was a virgin.” .Those blondes also included Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee, Dinah Shore and, of course, Marilyn Monroe, among others
