After a 20-year absence from the cabaret stage, MAC & Bistro Award winner James Beaman returns on Thursdays, October 19 and 26 at 9:30 PM at The Triad. He’ll be reunited with his longtime musical director, MAC & Bistro Award winner David Maiocco. Matt Scharfglass is on bass and David Silliman is on drums. Broadway dancer, former Rockette, director and choreographer Ann Cooley stages two numbers for this cabaret experience.
Older, wiser, with a song in his heart and his filter decidedly off, Beaman will celebrate
33 years in show biz, including a decade as one of cabaret’s finest female impersonators. Beaman brings his unique and tartly critical point of view on the cultural zeitgeist with a set list that includes tunes by Sondheim, Coward, Kander & Ebb, Hamlisch, Gilbert & Sullivan and many surprises. The evening will also feature a video retrospective of Beaman’s drag career, with a studio track of This is Me, adapted by Beaman and Maiocco, from the hit musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
There is a $25 cover/two-drink minimum. Tickets at triadnyc.com
Triad Theatre is located at 158 West 72nd Street, NYC
