KAREN MASON has starred on Broadway & Off-Broadway, TV & recording & has “few peers when it comes to ripping the roof off with her amazing voice that knows no bounds!”(TheatreScene.net). Karen is a ten-time MAC Award-winner, winning for Major Female Vocalist of the Year for six consecutive years.She also is the recipient of the 2006 Nightlife Award for Major Female Vocalist & has three Bistro Awards.Karen most recently garnered rave reviews starring as “The Queen of Hearts” on Broadway in Wonderland. She originated the role of “Tanya” in Abba’s Mamma Mia! for which she received a 2002 Drama Desk nomination as Best Actress. Her other leading roles include standing ovations as “Norma Desmond” in Sunset Boulevard(Broadway & Los Angeles), Velmavon Tussel” in Hairspray, “Monotony” singer, “Mazeppa” in Jerome Robbins Broadway, “Rosalie” in Carnival(Drama Desk nomination), Torch Song Trilogy& Play Me A Country Song.Karen won the Outer Critics Circle Award for her performance in And the World Goes Round & starred Off-Broadway in her own show, Karen Mason Sings Broadway, Beatle & Brian.
LEE ROY REAMS won critical acclaim as Roger DeBris on Broadway & the First National Company of Mel Brook’s musical hit, The Producers(Carbonell Award, Helen Hayes Award). Columnist Liz Smith called him “Broadway’s Darling”& the NY Times hailed him as “Broadway’s song & dance man nonpareil,”for his leading roles in David Merrick’s legendary 42nd Street (Tony & Drama Desk nominations), Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, La Cage aux Folles, Hello Dolly!& Lorelei (both starring Carol Channing), Applause (starring Lauren Bacall), Richard Rodgers’revival of Oklahoma!,Bob Fosse’s Sweet Charity(starring Gwen Verdon) & An Evening with Jerry Herman.On Broadway, he directed Hello Dolly!(Tony nomination/Best Revival) & An Evening with Jerry Herman. He also directed Anything Goes(starring Chita Rivera)& productions of Hello Dolly!Starring Madeline Kahn, JoAnne Worley Michelle Lee & in Paris, Nicole Crosille. He is also the resident director of Theatre Guild’s Theatre at Sea whose stars included PatriciaNeal, Gena Rowlands, Rosemary Harris, Leslie Uggams, Ed Asner, Cliff Robertson, Eli Wallach & Anne Jackson, among others.Concerts & cabaret have taken him around the world & to the White House, where he has had the honor of performing for four US Presidents, Carter, Reagan, Bush & Clinton.
ALEX RYBECK is a composer, arranger, pianist & musical director, best known for his work in concerts & cabarets, on recordings & in the theatre. His Broadway credits include Merrily We Roll Along(directed by Hal Prince) & Grand Hotel(directed by Tommy Tune). Regionally, his work on What the World Needs Now won him personal praise from Burt Bacharach. A two-time winner of the MAC Award for Best Musical Direction, he has worked with such artists as Michael Feinstein, Faith Prince, Metropolitan Opera diva Roberta Peters, “Voice of Hollywood”Marni Nixon, Eartha Kitt,Liz & Ann Hampton Callaway,Jeff Harnar, Karen Mason, Lee Roy Reams, Jason Graae, Sally Mayes, Amanda McBroom, Julie Wilson, Tovah Feldshuh, Donna McKechnie, Rita Gardner, Cis original songs have been recorded by Nancy LaMott, Todd Murray, Kevin Dozier & others.After graduating from Oberlin College, he moved to New York, where he was mentored by Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Laurents, Stephen Schwartz & Comden & Green, under the aegis of the NYU Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.
