ScoBar Entertainment proudly presents vocalist Hilary Kole for one night only, Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 8 pm at The Iridium with In a Sentimental Mood: Songs of Love and Longing.
Long a staple on the NYC jazz scene, Kole is also a multi-faceted concert hall and symphony artist who has performed in venues around the world. Kole began her professional career at the iconic Rainbow Room and has performed in other major Manhattan spots such as The Town Hall, Birdland, Blue Note and Feinstein’s/54 Below. She made her concert-hall debut at Lincoln Center as part of the “American Songbook Series.” In 2007, she appeared at Carnegie Hall in a tribute to Oscar Peterson and reprised that performance in January 2008 at the Canadian Memorial to Dr. Peterson at Thompson Hall alongside Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock and Nancy Wilson. She debuted at the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel as the co-writer and star of the Off-Broadway revues Our Sinatra and Singing Astaire.
Globally, Kole has headlined at the Umbria Jazz Festival, the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Nairn Jazz Festival in Scotland and at the Cotton Club and Blue Note in Japan. In 2016, upon releasing her CD, The Judy Garland Project, she toured the U.S. and Asia, performing Garland’s repertoire with a small ensemble group as well as with orchestras. Her discography also includes the John Pizzarelli-produced Haunted Heart (2009); You Are There (2010), featuring vocal piano duets with jazz pianists Dave Brubeck, Michel Legrand, Benny Green, Cedar Walton, Hank Jones and others; and A Self-Portrait (2014), which included interpretations of contemporary pop classics from the rock era.
