Groovin’ on a Sunday begins its 6th Year with “A Celebration of Women Writers” on February 25th

Groovin’ on a Sunday begins its sixth year with A Celebration of Women Writers on February 25th at 4pm at 53 Above Broadway (318 W 53rd St, New York, NY). Performing in the show as featured guests are Meg Flather, Jay Rogers, Aaron Morishita and Seth Malkin. They will be joining the Groovin’ Gang: Jason Ellis, Mary Sue Daniels, Phil Mougis, Rhonda Hansome and Evelyn Sullivan, with Wyn Wilson. The women songwriters to be honored includes Dorothy Fields, Susan Werner, Carole King, Joan Armatrading, Amanda McBroom, Micki Grant, Dolly Parton, Peggy Lee, Shaina Taub, Meg Flather and many more.

Co-hosted by Ann McCormack and Woody Regan, Groovin’ on a Sunday is a long-running variety show (nearing 60 shows) produced originally in 2003 at Don’t Tell Mama and then, returning on December 16, 2012 for an uninterrupted run forward. The show features cabaret artists, storytellers, musicians, comedians, novelists and poets — veterans and newcomers — to promote their work and experiment with works-in-progress. Upcoming shows will salute Earth Day, NYC Pride (a benefit for Hetrick-Martin Institute) and Groovin’ in the Summertime.
