Broadway’s Farah Alvin celebrates the release of her album On Vinyl, on Friday, May 19 at 7:00 PM at The Green Room 42. The show, featuring arrangements and music direction by Michael Holland, is directed by Marc Tumminelli.
Featuring music from the formative decade of Farah’s youth, her ‘70s throwback show On Vinyl includes songs by Elton John, Joni Mitchell, Queen, Stevie Wonder and more. On Vinyl was named the “#1 Cabaret Show of 2019” by Times Square Chronicles.
Alvin is a Broadway belter who has appeared in the Broadway casts of It Shoulda Been You, Grease, Saturday Night Fever, The Look of Love: The Music of Burt Bacharach and Hal David, the Tony Award-winning revival of Nine and Madison Square Garden’s A Christmas Carol. She is also known for her appearances in the Off-Broadway productions of The Marvelous Wonderettes, for which she received a 2009 Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical; The Last Smoker In America; I Love You Because and others. Alvin can heard on the albums of many new works by contemporary composers and lyricists. She is an award-winning concert performer and has appeared at venues all over the world. Someday, her first album of original music, was released in 2003 and is currently available for streaming.
