Deborah Stone’s acclaimed Siren Song, A Celebration of All Things Beguiling will return to Don’t Tell Mama for two Thursday performances—March 22nd and April 19th at 7:30pm, with new material added. To cast the Siren spell, Stone and musical director, Daryl Kojak, with director, Ann McCormack, have worked to weave together a magical blend of songs and styles from such diverse composers and lyricists as Cy Coleman, Cole Porter, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Alan Lerner and Frederick Loewe, Kurt Weill, Steven Sondheim, Bizet and Sting.
Critics have called Siren Song a “high-spirited and fun show,” “incredibly intelligent and well thought-out,” and hailed Stone, writing that her “secure vocal style can range from jazz to grand opera, and she can deliver a sexy lyric.” Kudos also included “If I had to describe her in one word it would be ‘chanteuse’” and “Glamour is back in New York. Coiffed, bejeweled, and begowned, Deborah Stone evokes the cabaret goddesses of the past.”
