David Sabella Celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Chicago on Tuesday, September 30 at 54 Below

Actor-singer David Sabella, original co-star in Chicago, celebrates the 30th anniversary of Broadway’s longest-running American musical on Tuesday, September 30, at 7 PM at 54 Below. Sabella offers a special behind-the-scenes look at the Kander and Ebb classic, with insight into the show’s creation, and his long history as “Mary Sunshine.”

The actor is a multi award-winner, having won the 2022 MAC award for “Major Male Artist,”  the 2024 MAC award for best impersonation/characterization/drag artist, as his drag alter ego “Amanda Reckonwith,” and “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play” award for the off-Broadway production of The Phillie Trilogy. He has also appeared in opera houses and concert halls throughout the US and Europe, including Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, and was a winner of the 1995 Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition, where Maestro Pavarotti publicly declared him to be “Excellent… not good, Excellent!”
