“Lucky so & so” Clark Warren swings The Best of … at Don’t Tell Mama on Monday, April 8th, Thursday, May 9th and Wednesday, May 15th, all at 7:00 pm. He is joined by Takaaki Otomo on piano, Noriko Ueda on bass and Tim Horner on drums. Musical direction is by the “Marvelous” Marilyn Maye.
Warren is an entertainer who’s a singer, actor, voice-over artist and magician. His business card simply reads “Voice” since working that instrument has always been his only business. From major TV voiceovers, to his hosting radio programs, to his appearances at New York’s Birdland and 20 years in Manhattan cabaret, Clark has shared a lifetime of entertaining on stage, on radio, on TV and in nightclubs with colleagues and fans.
Career highlights include his continuing role as Don Curtis on NBC’s “From These Roots;” Emmy Award-winning episode “Carol” in Ben Gazzara’s “Run for Your Life;” Coogan’s Bluff with Clint Eastwood and Lee J. Cobb; four shows a night at Hollywood’s Magic Castle where his oil portrait and caricature hang; news/music host on stations WDXN, WCBN and WMTR; eight seasons of repertory stock; sole corporate TV spokesman for Thomas’ English Muffins (six years), Woolite (seven years), Ford Motor Company (two years); and core member Singers Forum OutReach (18 years).
Warren knows he’s a “lucky so & so,” invoking the name on his CD and his earlier cabaret act—a tuneful, upbeat show reflecting that gratitude attitude. The CD is available at CDBaby and after each show.
