Birdland Theater presents the return of Carole J. Bufford in the premiere of her new show Divine Decadence for a six-performance engagement from Friday, July 21 to Sunday, July 23 with shows each night at 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM. She will be joined by music director Ian Herman on piano, Tom Hubbard on bass, and Howie Gordon on drums.
With a blend of vintage charm and modern flair, Divine Decadence combines the best of the past and present, showcasing a diverse collection of songs spanning from the Roaring 1920s to the Vibrant 2020s. This cabaret takes audiences on a 100-year journey celebrating the evolution of music and capturing the spirit of each decade. Bufford covers timeless classics and her take on some of today’s current hits. The show features songs made famous by Barbra Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald, Adele, Tina Turner, Solomon Burke, Patsy Cline, Liza Minnelli, Nancy Wilson, Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra, and more.
Bufford is the recipient of a Nightlife, Bistro and BroadwayWorld Award for Outstanding Vocalist. She has traveled across the US (The Colony’s Royal Room in Palm Beach, Venetian Room in Dallas, Cabaret 313 in Detroit, Broadway by the Bay in San Mateo, Upright Cabaret in Los Angeles) and recently made her London debut. She was featured in Michael Feinstein’s Great American Songbook series at Jazz at Lincoln Center and has been spotlighted in numerous Broadway by the Year concerts both at The Town Hall and in California.
