Bistro Award-winning Cacophony Daniels (aka Jersey Boys’ Courter Simmons) plays at Don’t Tell Mama with Wanna Bette?, a tribute to Bette Midler, on Saturday, July 14th and Saturday, July 28th; both shows are at 7:00 PM. With musical direction by Clinton Sherwood and arrangements by Kyle Branzel, Wanna Bette? is a fun, campy evening of songs from the Divine Miss M’s entire career to welcome her back to Broadway for the final weeks of the run of Hello Dolly! Also on the bill are Ashley Baier on drums. Joe Wallace on bass, Kurt Marcum on trumpet and Stephanie Estep singing backup.
Performed in their original keys, the featured songs will follow the Bathhouse Beauty from her start on Broadway in Fiddler on the Roof, through her Grammy-Award winning albums, The Divine Miss M and Experience the Divine, through her Oscar-nominated film roles in The Rose and For The Boys.
Always “the loudest girl in the room,” singer, actress, over-the-top drag diva and nightlife personality Daniels has been featured on NBC’s “The Mysteries of Laura,” at Broadway Sessions and in venues throughout New York City. She is currently the co-host of Broadway Mondays at Hardware Bar with Sutton Lee Seymour. Committed to fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic, Daniels also a volunteer and spokesperson for HIV Smart.
