Broadway and TV Actor-Singer Gayle Turner Debuts at The Green Room 42 on Monday, August 25

Broadway and TV actor-singer Gayle Turner debuts at The Green Room 42 on Monday, August 25 at 7 PM. Along with music director, Darnell White, Turner will recount her journey beginning with her breakthrough Broadway debut in The Wiz in 1976 as the Dorothy Understudy to Stephanie Mills. Turner will also sing music from Broadway, R&B classics, gospel and some of her favorite tunes of all time.

Turner is a 2024 Lucille Lortel “Outstanding Ensemble” award winner for (pray), directed by NicHi Douglas. She has been in the performing arts for forty plus years. A graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Turner made her Broadway debut in The Wiz and has gone on to stage credits in Little Shop of Horrors, The First Noel, Langston in Harlem, Once on This Island, Constant Star, Having Our Say, Nunsense and more, and TV credits in “And Just like That” and “Law & Order SVU.” She is the winner of seven John Barrymore Awards and two  Carbonell Awards. Turner is also a member of the Tony Awarded Broadway Inspirational Voices Gospel Choir.
