Emmy, SAG and Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis premieres a new solo concert program with The New York Pops, led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, on Friday, March 4, at 8:00 PM at Carnegie Hall. An Evening with Norm Lewis highlights the singer-actor’s career on stage, including his leading roles in Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Porgy and Bess and Sweeney Todd.
Lewis has also been seen on stage in Chicken and Biscuits, Once on This Island, Sondheim on Sondheim, The Little Mermaid, Chicago, The Wild Party, Side Show, Miss Saigon and The Who’s Tommy, as well as appearing in many television roles. He previously appeared with The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall in April 2013 and in May 2016, in addition to headlining The New York Pops Underground Cabaret in September 2019.
Now in its 39th season, The New York Pops is the largest independent pops orchestra in the United States and the only professional symphonic orchestra in New York City specializing in popular music. Led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, the orchestra performs an annual subscription series at Carnegie Hall, plus an annual birthday gala, celebrated each spring, raising funds for the orchestra and its education programs. The New York Pops also performs annually in Queens, NY at Forest Hills Stadium, a 14,000-seat historic concert venue.
