Singer Bob O’Hare presents his new show, Bob O’Hare: Walk Through the World–The Songs of Leslie Bricusse on Sundays, November 19 at 1 PM and November 26 at 2 PM, plus Fridays, December 1 and December 15, both at 7 PM at Don’t Tell Mama. Hare will be accompanied by The Tom Nelson Trio: Tom Nelson, Musical Director/pianist; bassist Tom Kirchmer and drummer Peter Grant. Eric Michael Gillett direct, the show. Proceeds will benefit Benjamin House, Elizabeth City, North Carolina, an assisted-living residence for the mentally challenged.
British composer, lyricist and playwright Leslie Bricusse. makes a perfect musical treat for the holiday season. The show will include classic songs that Bricusse composed with such gifted collaborators as Anthony Newley, Henry Mancini and Cyril Ornadel. Among them will be songs from the stage productions Stop the World – I Want to Get Off, The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd and The Good Old Bad Old Days. The show will also include songs Bricusse wrote for such movie musicals as Doctor Dolittle, Goodbye Mr. Chips, Scrooge, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Victor /Victoria.
