“The new variety show done in the OG way”—Barbarino’s Big Nite Out! returns to Lips Drag Queen Show Palace, Restaurant & Bar on Tuesday, May 6 at 7 PM, with special guest, Diva LaMarr and music director John Bronston on the keys.
Produced and curated by Scott Barbarino, the show features singers, comedians, magic and specialty acts. “We’re going to party like it’s 1999,” Barbarino says. “The vibe is fun and eclectic and the perfect antidote for these crazy times we now live in.”
Guest performers for the upcoming show are host Josh “Chachi” Cruz, singers Renee Marie, Liz Davies and Hannah Jane, plus resident magician Magic Brian, dance team Ethan Cavanaugh and Rachel Caron, composer George Winters, comedian Charles Osborne and the vocal group The BevNaps—Anna Anderson, Dylan Berkshire and JD Smurthwaite.

He’s been a performer, producer, venue manager/booker, Artistic Director and mega-supporter of the art forms of piano bar and cabaret. Recently, he’s taken up performing again with Barbarino Takes a Bev Nap… and is now producing the OG variety show, Barbarino’s Big Nite Out! (BBNO).
What a great idea! Up until the age of the internet, variety shows were popular fare, having roots in Music Hall, Burlesque (the original kind) and Vaudeville. Even in the Middle Ages, entertainments included minstrels and troubadours, acrobats, jugglers, jesters, dancers and conjurers. TV’s “The Ed Sullivan Show” embodied the spirit of variety. Now there’s BBNO! to bring back this tried-and-true happy-making entertainment.
