Barbarino’s Big Nite Out! returns on Tuesday. December 10 at 8:30 PM. BBNO! is a “new variety show done in the OG way” featuring singers, comedians and specialty acts—at Lips, New York’s ULTIMATE Drag Queen show palace and restaurant.
Lips is located in the space that was originally The Little Hippodrome Theater where The NY Dolls did their final concert and recorded the live album Red Patent Leather. It was also home to the venerable cabaret/night club The Blue Angel, La Vie En Rose and Bill Hongs for many years.Needless to say if the walls could talk what stories they’d tell.
Following such storied traditions, Scott Barbarino‘s Big Nite Out! recreates the magic of those halcyon days and the nights he played in them—the perfect antidote for these crazy times we now live in. Host Joshua “Chachi” Cruz and The Tropicabana Trio (Winter Commander, Hannah Jane and Lyn Webber) welcome this week’s special guest, Zach Carter, accompanied by Maestro John Bronston. Carter has been wowing the crowd’s at Ellen’s Stardust Diner with his incredible voice and 
unique, shall we say, vocal stylings. Comedian Liz Davies, Magician Magic Brian, Dancer Ethan Cavanaugh, Harmonica Dave (Rubin), Songwriter Kevin Ray, and Lip’s very own Drag Star, Avant Garbage round out the entertainment for the evening. The night caps off with an open mic during which we invite guests to “sing out Louise!” Just bring your sheet music with you.
Scott Barbarino is the producer of the award-winning internet show PianoBarLive!, as well as New Faces of Broadway, The Follow Spot, Terese Genecco and her Little Big Band and Cheez Whiz at The Parkside Lounge with Sweetie. Barbarino is a founder and lead singer of Scott Barbarino & The Bev-Naps, a retro-vocal comedy doo-wop group that won two MAC Awards (1999––Vocal Group and 2000––Musical Comedy Group).
