Theatre Row in conjunction with United Solo will present the debut of fashion and “Project Runway” television star Austin Scarlett—a designer whose work spans the realms of fashion, theater and pop culture—in his one-man show Satin Secrets: A Night with Austin Scarlett on Saturday, November 15 at 7:00 PM and Wednesday, November 19 at 8:30 PM. The show is directed by Dusty Childers and features musical director-pianist Paul Leschen. Costume design is by Scarlett.
Enter the glittering world of the “Project Runway” star as the artist, couture designer and television personality reveals all in an evening of fashion, fantasy, storytelling and song. Scarlett pulls back his silken curtain, sharing secrets, dreams, happiness and heartache from the runway and beyond. Making his stage debut, Scarlett swoons, croons and twirls his way though a dizzying array of costume changes, interpreting a personally curated songbook of glamorous jazz standards, vintage vinyl and a few special surprises.
In 2012 Scarlett launched his signature collection of couture bridal and evening gowns, carried at Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and luxury retailers around the globe. Costume design projects include The Public Theater’s Three Little Girls Down a Well; Park Avenue Armory’s Iridescence Gala; Juilliard Opera’s La Calisto; Fort Worth Opera’s With Blood, With Ink; Santa Fe Ballet; David Parsons Dance on PBS; and Shen Wei Dance Arts at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Tickets are $52.50 (including $7.50 service charge) available HERE.
Theatre Row is located at 410 West 42nd Street, New York, NY
