For the first time since winning the 2018 MAC Award for Best Debut, Ann Kittredge returns to Feinstein’s/54 Below with her new show, Fancy Meeting You Here: An Evening Of Ahrens & Flaherty, Wednesday, May 29th at 7:00pm. Not merely a fan of the great collaboration between Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, which led to Tony-winning shows like Ragtime and Once On This Island, as well as Anastasia, Rocky: The Musical, and My Favorite Year, Kittredge became fascinated by what makes this particular collaboration an enduring success.
Directed by Andrea Marcovicci (“The Queen of Cabaret”), with musical direction by Alex Rybeck, the show transports the audience from Dublin to England to the Caribbean and beyond. Drawing on her early acting training at Carnegie Mellon University and work on and off-Broadway, Kittredge shares her wonder at what lies at the heart of each Ahrens and Flaherty creation.
Kittredge is a performing artist who has appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway and at major venues across the country. She has worked with top producers and directors throughout her career on stage, and when she became a mother 18 years ago, she channeled her passion for her craft into a new arena: performance education. Kittredge recently created a drama program at a NYC Public High School. During her break from pursuing her career full time, the singer-actress was extremely active in education advocacy for children and volunteering. She directed several children’s plays, mentored children in acting, singing and auditioning, and also earned a seat on the District 28 Community Education Council.
