Jazz vocalist Ali Webb will return to Don’t Tell Mama on Sunday, January 26 at 4 PM with Listen Here – The Music of Dave Frishberg. At the piano is music director, arranger and improvisor Wells Hanley. Also joining is bassist Randall Pharr and drummer Brian Caputo.
Webb, who made her New York City debut at Mamas at the beginning of 2023, is not only a vocalist but a storyteller and comedian whose narrative takes audiences along for a journey. Listen Here will feature such classic Frishberg tunes as “Blizzard of Love,” “Our Love Rolls On” and the title number, “Listen Here.” Frishberg, who died in 2021, was called a master of wit and melody, and was a particular favorite of jazz pianist-singer Blossom Dearie.
