Actress-vocalist Rosemary Loar is offering a private cabaret workshop in February culminating with a performance for participants at Don’t Tell Mama in March. Loar’s goal is to be fun and instructional for those interested in getting into the field a little more deeply.
Loar has performed in cabarets all over the country (and in Germany and Italy) was a participant in this season’s Cabaret Convention at Lincoln Center. Her poster is on the vack wall at DTM .
Basically, the instruction entails two private sessions to work on 2- 3 songs (depending on how many sign up). The entire class then meets for two 2-hour rehearsals at Studio 353 with a sound system and pianist. The group will work on the songs and the patter between the songs and mic technique.
