73rd Annual Tony Awards, with Host James Corden, Broadcasts Tonight on CBS TV at 8 PM EDT

The 73rd Annual Tony Awards to recognize achievement in Broadway productions during the 2018–19 season are tonight at Radio City Music Hall. Late night television host and actor, James Corden, who made his own Broadway debut in 2006 in The History Boys, will host. The broadcast begins at 8 PM EDT on CBS Television.

Leading the nominations are Hadestown with 14 nominations (the most of any production of the season), followed by Ain’t Too Proud with 12, and Tootsie with 11. In the play category, The Ferryman and To Kill a Mockingbird each received nine nominations.

The Creative Arts Tony Awards, hosted by Danny Burstein, Karen Olivo and Aaron Tveit will be presented prior to the televised show. These awards include honorary awards and technical categories. The non-competitive Special Tony Awards are being presented to Rosemary Harris, Terrence McNally and Harold Wheeler for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre; the Isabelle Stevenson Award to Judith Light, for her work to end HIV/AIDS and support for LGBTQ+ and human rights; and to TheatreWorks, Palo Alto, California as The Regional Theatre award winner.

The Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre were previously awarded at a special, separate event to Broadway Inspirational Voices; Peter Entin, retired vice president of Theatre Operations for the Shubert Organization; Joseph Blakely Forbes, founder and president of Scenic Art Studios, Inc.; and FDNY Engine 54, Ladder 4, Battalion 9 (firehouse, New York City). The Special Tony Award was presented posthumously to the late Marin Mazzie; music director Jason Michael Webb; Sonny Tilders and Creature Technology Company, creator of the gorilla in King Kong.
