My latest photo journal captures featured moments from the 2025 Bistro Awards, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the annual show, which took place on Monday, April 14 at Gotham Comedy Club. The room was full of a supportive, celebratory audience of friends, family and colleagues from the cabaret community. Host for the evening, Jason Kravitz, kept the pace moving and entertained with his wit and his own talent—closing the show with a song he’d written about it! He certainly is a master of performing off the top (of his head)!
Guest honorees included Peter and Will Anderson, Nicolas King, Jim David, Mary Foster Conklin, Julie Halston and Laurie Krauz. Surprise of the evening was Jerry Seinfeld, who, thinking it was a regular comedy night at the club, wandered in to try out material! He was graciously allowed on stage, adding a little extra to the show!
The 40th Annual Bistro Award was music directed by pianist Daryl Kojak, with bassist Ritt Henn and drummer Rex Beninncsa. The show was produced by Sherry Eaker and directed by Gerry Geddes, with associate producers Mark Dundas Wood and Mary Lahti.
