Feinstein’s/54 Below, Broadway’s Supper Club, presents Sharron Matthews in Sharron Matthews Naked on Friday, October 28th, 2016. “She may be the most exciting thing to have happened in cabaret since Bette Midler at the Continental Baths” (NiteLife Exchange). Sharron Matthews is perhaps best known around the world as “Joan the secretary” – serving up comedic gold and playing opposite Tina Fey in the film Mean Girls, but it’s her internationally acclaimed cabarets that leave audiences begging for more. In 2010, “Sharron Matthews Superstar: World Domination Tour” was named “#1 Cabaret in New York City” by NiteLife Exchange. In 2011, she received the Scotsman’s “Best Of The Fest” for “Jesus Thinks I’m Funny”. And in 2012, Sharron toured “Sharron Matthews GOLD” to Toronto, Scotland, London, New York City, and Cape Town, South Africa. Along the way, Sharron was named “Woman of the Year” by The New Current (UK), and “One of the Top Cabarets of the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe” by the Scotsman. In 2013, Sharron began her three-year residency as Canada’s first Cabaret-Artist-In-Residence at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. On stage, Sharron has played a variety of leading roles including Lottie in Hal Prince’s Showboat, Madame Thernardier in Les Miserables (opposite Colm Wilkinson and Sutton Foster), the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Babette in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz (Dora Award nomination), and Love, Loss, and What I Wore (alongside Andrea Martin). In 2016, Sharron hosted, co-wrote and consulted on two TV pilots for Canada’s Slice TV, called “MEME gURL”, and she also starred for two seasons on Global TV’s hit reality show, Canada Sings, which was nominated for the prestigious Realscreen Award. Sharron continues to tour extensively across her native Canada, as well as furthering development on a cabaret for kids with the Young People’s Theatre in Toronto, and performing a month long run of her new show, “Girl Crush” at Lunch Box Theatre in Calgary.
