Friday is “CRY Day” with a Sad Song Marathon at Feinstein’s/54 Below

Scott Siegel PresentsCry: A Sad Song Marathon! on Friday, January 5 at 9:30 PM. Misery loves company.  Travel the world for the songs that make you weep! From “Cry Me a River” to “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables,” and from “Solitaire” to (of course), Johnnie Ray’s “Cry.” Broadway, Hollywood, country, pop, blues…from everywhere (even France); anything and everything that brings a tear to the eye. You might even hear “Patches.” Here, finally, is the show that lets you — encourages you — to cry in your beer. Come be miserable and hear some of the greatest sad songs ever written, performed by a cast of brilliant Broadway actors and nightclub stars who feel your pain! And the big surprise is that this is a FUN show!

Cry is the creation of New York impresario Scott Siegel (seen in vintage photo by Russ Weatherford), who has written, directed, and produced concerts for Michael Feinstein, and has produced more than 300 major concerts all over the world. He is perhaps best known as the creator/writer/director and host of The Town Hall’s signature series, Broadway by the Year, which soon begins its record-breaking 18th critically acclaimed season. At Feinstein’s/54 Below, he is the creator of the long-running hit series, 54 Sings Broadway’s Greatest Hits, as well as scores of other popular concert events.
