One More Time: Lane Bradbury’s “Let Me Entertain You, Again” at Don’t Tell Mama on February 6

She created the role of Dainty June in the original 1959 Broadway production of Gypsy and now Lane Bradbury is bringing an encore performance of  Let Me Entertain You, Again to Don’t Tell Mama On Tuesday, February 6, at 7 PM. The show is a very personal musical trip down memory lane for this Lane, highlighting her transition from Atlanta debutante to a performer on The Great White Way during the Golden Age of Broadway musicals. Let Me Entertain You, Again was written by Doug DeVita and is directed by Bradbury’s daughter Elkin Antoniou. Musical Direction is by Joe Goodrich.

Let Me Entertain You, Again debuted at Don’t Tell Mama in June 2017 and was subsequently named a “Pick of the Week” by Cabaret Scenes Magazine, BistroAwards.com and NiteLifeExchange.com, whose reviewer, Bart Greenberg, cited her as “part seductress, part realist, part survivor, and part fairy spirit, as she enchants with her stories and songs.” TheaterPizzazz.com noted that “musical director Joe Goodrich supplied her with sensational arrangements.”

Lane Bradbury was born and raised near Atlanta, Georgia, began to study ballet at age five and joined the Atlanta Ballet at age 12. She moved to NYC to pursue a dancing career was accepted at the Actors Studio as the youngest member ever. She made her Broadway debut in 1958 in J.B. after director Elia Kazan discovered her at the Studio. In 1961, she was cast in The Night of the Iguana, originating respectively the roles of another person named June and as well as Charlotte.  In the intervening years she went on to a career in film and on television. She now serves as the artistic director of Valkyrie Theatre of Dance, Drama and Film in Los Angeles, a non-profit organization that utilizes the arts to bring hope, healing, and identity to at-risk children and teenagers.
