Sharon McNight Returns to The Iridium with the Les Paul Trio

                              Sharon McNight was nominated for Broadway’s Tony Award for her performance in Starmites as Diva, the hard driving lead character who shook the theatre’s chandeliers every night with her rock 'n roll anthem “Hard to Be Diva.” She received the coveted Theatre World Award as Most Promising Broadway newcomer for the same show.  

Sharon has received Manhattan’s MAC Award, New York Critics’ Nightlife Award, six San Francisco Gold Awards, a Bistro Award and was twice awarded the Bay Area Critics Award for Best Actress in a musical.

Ms. McNight has toured from San Francisco to Berlin, appeared in major concert halls and in Las Vegas, Reno and the world’s leading cabarets, night clubs and theatres. She sang the National Anthem for the San Francisco Giants (a thrill for a baseball fan like Sharon) and has received rave reviews and standing ovations wherever she has appeared.

Her singing style is all her own; she can purr with sweetness or get down and shake the blues from the soles of her feet. Sharon can rock with the best of them and might even yodel while offering a Nashville ditty. Whatever Sharon is singing, she always serves it with a wink and a laugh.

The Los Angeles Times said, “McNight continues to be one of the wonders of the musical stage,” while the New York Post offered, “McNight is a many side singer of seemingly unlimited vocal emotion,” and New York Magazine exclaimed, “Sharon McNight is a winner!”  

When asked recently what the highlight of her career was, she said,” there are simply too many to mention, but then quickly adds that the night she sang with the “one and only” Les Paul at The Iridium is definitely near the very top. The Les Paul Trio features Lou Pallo on the Les Paul guitar, John Colianna on piano and Nicki Parrot on bass.
