Lynda Rodolitz is a nut!

Review by Scott Barbarino – “She’s a nut … she’s a nut … (Lynda Rodolitz) is a nut … but but but but but but but but,” she’s the best nut I’ve had the pleasure of seeing on a cabaret stage in a very long time! This Brooklyn guy can tell you that, without question or pause, that this Brooklyn Goil got the comedy goods. She’s funny and a little off …. just perfect for this day and age when a little authentic Brooklyn goes a long way to answering the question, “What’s wrong with these people?” My favorite line in the show was “Blessed are the cracked cause they let in the light!” Indeed, she does just that with Edith Bunker’s voice and classic body language reminiscent of comedy performers like Joanne Worley or the great Imogene Coca, for whom the intro of this review is an homage tor her role in On the Twentieth Century. She’s a lady who’s obviously been raised in Brooklyn on Mallomars and moxie and has thus keenly developed the acerbic wit that comes to people who question authority, but with humor. And there’s music and she sings and thanks to Steven Ray Watkins, it all works. Kudos go to Lennie Watts for keeping this runaway choo-choo on the track, as well as for his keen portrayal of the cat Old Deuteronomy for the big Joe Iconis Party Hat number.

Lynda Rodolitz is OFF HER ROCKER returns to Don’t Tell Mama Saturday February 11 at 4pm.
