An Open Letter From Brenda Levitt: December 6, 2017 at the Iridium and The Barry Levitt Foundation Launch

Greetings One and All,

I want to thank you all for your overwhelming heartfelt support over the last nine weeks.  It has been both a difficult and inspiring time for me. So much has transpired; and I have been working hard setting up a Foundation to keep Barry’s goals alive.

The Barry Levitt Foundation is committed to providing music education to under served populations in NY, NJ and PA. The Foundation provides instruction, instruments, performance support and scholarships to students. It is our belief that no aspiring instrumentalist or vocalist should be discouraged due to economic circumstances.

In these first nine weeks, we have chosen to collaborate with and support The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club and The New School For Jazz and Contemporary Music. Representatives from these organizations will speak at our first benefit.

The official launch of the Foundation will be Wednesday, December 6@ 8:30pm, at Iridium. It is going to be a celebration of Barry’s life, goals and music. We have artists, all of whom worked with Barry, from Broadway, cabaret, and jazz. This will be the first of many events. There are programs planned in February and March. We plan to bring Barry’s student and professional clients to the stage, all while assisting youth, the future of American music and theater, We will support your endeavors. As you support us, we will support you. As we support each other, we support youth.

I look forward to seeing you and sharing in this new adventure. Again thank you so much for every act of kindness, from the bottom of my heart.

With Gratitude,
Brenda Levitt
