54 Sings Broadway’s Greatest Hits! January 6 Is First in 2018’s Monthly Shows

He’ll only have a day to wipe away his tears after his Cry concert this Friday night–a marathon of sad songs –at Feinstein’s/54 Below before Scott Siegel’s next event at the same NYC venue, the newest installment of Broadway’s Greatest Hits.  These events coincide with the city’s recovery from the January 4 snowstorm.  The timing recalls the beginning of this concert series on the night that a hurricane was supposed to close down New York City and its subways.  But it sold out anyway because, apparently, this was the program that musical theatre-lovers had been waiting for.

After many more packed shows, they’re going to do it again: Saturday January 6 at 9:30 PM with a brand new line-up of and the series will continue once a month, with shows already set through July.

Press notes describe the target audience (YOU?) thusly: “If you skip through cast albums just to hear the very best songs in each show, this is the nightclub concert event for you. If you love the classics of the Great White Way, come and hear the songs that made Broadway great, that made your heart soar, that you used to sing —maybe still do— in the shower! But at Feinstein’s/54 Below, you will hear the greatest Broadway songs of all time performed by today’s greatest stars, singing them straight up, the way you want to hear them!”

Explaining its choice of its creative force, the original announcement read, “And  who better to produce/direct/host this show than the creator of The Town Hall’s critically acclaimed Broadway by the Year series, Scott Siegel, creator of more than 200 major concert events centered on Broadway music!
